Booking Your Orthodontic Consultation

If you are considering braces or orthodontic treatment, the first step is to arrange a consultation with a specialist orthodontist.

At Lusk Orthodontics, we welcome both self-referrals and referrals from dentists and other healthcare professionals. Many patients contact us directly, while others are referred by their dentist, GP, ENT specialist, or other medical colleagues.

We provide specialist orthodontic consultations for children, teenagers, and adults across Dublin and North County Dublin, including Lusk, Skerries, Rush, Swords, Balbriggan, Malahide, and surrounding areas. In addition, we regularly see patients who travel from across Ireland to access our highly specialised orthodontic care.

Children and Teenagers (Under 18)

We offer a complimentary initial orthodontic assessment for children and adolescents.

Most orthodontic concerns at this age are relatively straightforward. This visit allows us to assess the teeth, bite, and jaw development, and to give a clear indication of whether treatment may be beneficial.

What to expect:

• Digital 3D scan of the teeth
• Clinical assessment of the bite and facial balance
• Approximately 15 minutes with Dr Erfan Salloum to discuss findings and outline potential options, timelines, and fees

This is an initial screening appointment rather than a full diagnostic consultation.

If treatment is indicated and you wish to proceed, a separate appointment will be arranged for full records and a detailed consultation. This carries a fee of €200 and includes clinical photographs, X-rays where indicated, and a comprehensive discussion to finalise the treatment plan.

Adults (18 and Over)

Adult orthodontic cases are often more complex and require a comprehensive assessment from the outset.

To deliver accurate, efficient, and high-value care, we book adult patients directly for a full records appointment and detailed consultation.

This includes:

• Clinical examination
• Digital scans and photographs
• X-rays where indicated

You will then have a 30 to 45 minute consultation with Dr Salloum, where we will provide:

• A clear diagnosis
• Treatment options and alternatives
• Expected treatment duration
• Risks and limitations
• Transparent fees

This approach avoids unnecessary repeat visits and ensures you receive meaningful, accurate information from your first appointment.

Orthodontic Records and Treatment Planning

For patients proceeding with treatment, we carry out a full records appointment to design a precise and personalised treatment plan.

This typically includes:

• X-rays of the teeth and jaws
• Clinical photographs
• Digital orthodontic records

Following this, your detailed consultation will cover all aspects of your treatment so you can make an informed decision.

Advanced Imaging (CBCT)

In selected cases, we may recommend a low-dose 3D CBCT scan to assess the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures in greater detail.

This is particularly useful for:

• Impacted teeth
• Skeletal expansion (MARPE, BARME, DOME)
• Surgical orthodontic planning
• Complex or multidisciplinary cases

A CBCT scan and reporting carries an additional fee of €150.

Consultation Fees

• Children and adolescents: Complimentary initial assessment
• Records and detailed consultation (when proceeding with treatment): €200
  • This includes orthodontic records and a full treatment planning discussion
  • The fee is typically deducted from the total treatment cost if you proceed

For more complex cases requiring advanced planning and interdisciplinary input (such as surgical cases or airway-related concerns), the consultation fee is €450, which usually includes CBCT imaging and full records.

Your Visit to Lusk Orthodontics

Before your appointment, we will send medical and consent forms to complete in advance.

Our clinic is located in Lusk Village Quarter, North Dublin, with convenient free parking available and Saturday appointments to suit busy schedules.

Specialist Orthodontic Care

All consultations and treatment planning are carried out by Dr Erfan Salloum, our Specialist Orthodontist and Clinical Director.

We provide a boutique, specialist-led service where your care is personally overseen by one orthodontist throughout your treatment journey. This allows for continuity, attention to detail, and a level of clinical focus that ensures each case is carefully planned and thoughtfully executed.

Our approach differs from larger, multi-provider models. We prioritise consistency, precision, and a direct doctor–patient relationship, so you always know who is responsible for your care and how your treatment is progressing.

Our focus is simple: straightforward cases managed efficiently, and complex cases managed properly, with careful planning and attention to detail.

Our aim is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based orthodontic care using modern technology, with a clear, honest, and personalised approach for every patient.
