If you are considering braces or orthodontic treatment in Dublin, the first step is to arrange a consultation with Dr Erfan Salloum, Specialist Orthodontist and Clinical Director at Lusk Orthodontics.

We welcome both self-referrals and referrals from dentists, GPs, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Many patients contact us directly, while others are referred for specialist orthodontic assessment and treatment planning.

We provide specialist orthodontic consultations for children, teenagers, and adults across Dublin and North County Dublin, including Lusk, Skerries, Rush, Swords, Balbriggan, Malahide, Donabate, Portmarnock, and surrounding areas. We also regularly welcome patients travelling from across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK for highly specialised orthodontic care.

Children and Teenagers (Under 18)

Complimentary Initial Orthodontic Assessment

We offer a complimentary initial orthodontic assessment for children and teenagers.

Most orthodontic concerns at this age are relatively straightforward. This visit allows us to assess the teeth, bite, jaw development, and facial balance, while giving parents a clear understanding of whether orthodontic treatment may be beneficial.

What to Expect

Your child’s assessment typically includes:

• Digital 3D scan of the teeth
• Clinical assessment of the bite and jaw development
• Airway assessment
• Facial balance assessment
• Approximately 15 minutes with Dr Erfan Salloum
• Discussion of findings, treatment options, timing, and potential fees

This is an initial screening appointment rather than a full diagnostic consultation.

If treatment is indicated and you wish to proceed, a separate records appointment and detailed consultation will be arranged.

Full Records and Detailed Consultation

Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment Planning

For patients proceeding with treatment, we carry out a full orthodontic records appointment to design a precise and personalised treatment plan.

This appointment typically includes:

• Clinical examination
• Digital scans
• Clinical photographs
• X-rays where indicated
• Orthodontic treatment planning

Following this, you will have a detailed consultation with Dr Salloum to discuss:

• Diagnosis
• Treatment options and alternatives
• Expected treatment duration
• Risks and limitations
• Treatment fees and payment options

Our goal is to ensure every patient receives clear, honest, and evidence-based advice before starting treatment.

Adult Orthodontic Consultations (18 and Over)

Detailed Assessment from the First Appointment

Adult orthodontic cases are often more complex and usually require a comprehensive assessment from the outset.

To provide efficient and high-value care, adult patients are typically booked directly for a full records appointment and detailed consultation rather than a short screening visit.

This allows us to provide meaningful and accurate information from the first appointment while avoiding unnecessary repeat visits.

Adult consultations typically include:

• Clinical examination
• Digital scans and photographs
• X-rays where indicated
• Comprehensive orthodontic assessment
• 30 to 45 minute consultation with Dr Salloum

During the consultation, we will discuss:

• Your diagnosis
• Treatment options
• Alternative approaches
• Expected treatment times
• Risks and limitations
• Transparent treatment fees
• Referral’s to other specialists when needed
• Follow-up summary of the discussion.

Advanced Imaging and CBCT Scan

Low-Dose 3D Imaging for Complex Cases

In selected cases, we may recommend a low-dose 3D CBCT scan to assess the teeth, jaws, airway, and surrounding structures in greater detail.

CBCT imaging is particularly useful for:

• Impacted teeth
• Skeletal expansion treatments such as MARPE, BARME, and DOME
• Surgical orthodontic treatment planning
• Airway assessment (to assess nasal septum, adenoids, nasal turbinates, maxillary sinus)
• Complex multidisciplinary cases

A CBCT scan with reporting carries an additional fee of €150.

This fee is separate from orthodontic treatment fees and is not deducted from the total treatment cost.

Consultation Fees

Children and Routine Adult Orthodontic Consultations

For routine orthodontic cases, the standard consultation and records fee is €200.

This includes:

• Clinical examination
• Digital scans
• Clinical photographs
• X-rays where indicated
• Orthodontic treatment planning
• Detailed consultation

In most cases, this fee is deducted from the total treatment fee if you proceed with orthodontic treatment.

Complex Adult and Multidisciplinary Consultation

For more complex adult cases requiring advanced assessment and treatment planning, the consultation fee is €300.

This may apply to cases involving:

• Surgical orthodontics
• Airway-related concerns
• Skeletal expansion
• TMJ-related problems
• Complex multidisciplinary treatment planning

If treatment proceeds, €200 of this fee is typically deducted from the overall treatment cost.
