Orthodontic Treatment Fees in Dublin

At Lusk Orthodontics, we explain your treatment options, fees and any additional costs before you decide to proceed.

Your treatment fee depends on the complexity of your case and the appliances required. Following your assessment, you will receive a personalised treatment plan and a clear quotation.

Consultation fees

If you proceed with orthodontic treatment at Lusk Orthodontics, €200 of your consultation fee is credited in full towards your treatment fee.

CBCT fees are separate and are not deducted from the treatment fee.

Which consultation do I need?

For children, teenagers and routine adult orthodontic cases, the €200 consultation applies.

For complex adult cases, including surgical orthodontics, complex bite problems, airway-related planning  or TMJ cases, the €300 consultation fee applies.

Is my child ready for treatment?

If you are unsure whether your child is ready for orthodontic treatment, we offer a complimentary readiness assessment.

This brief visit checks whether your child is ready for a full consultation or would benefit from further monitoring. It does not include comprehensive records, diagnosis or treatment planning.

If your child is ready for the next step, the full records and specialist consultation fee is €200. 

How much will my orthodontic treatment cost?

We confirm your individual treatment fee after assessing your teeth, bite and jaws.

Two main factors determine the cost:

• Treatment complexity: straightforward alignment generally requires less planning and clinical time than complex bite correction, impacted teeth or treatment involving other specialists.

• Appliance choice: metal braces, ceramic braces, customised lingual braces, clear aligners and skeletal expansion appliances have different planning and laboratory requirements.

Your quotation will explain the recommended treatment, expected duration, total fee and any separately charged items.

What is included in the treatment fee?

Our comprehensive orthodontic treatment fees include:

• All routine orthodontic adjustment appointments.

• Monitoring visits throughout active treatment.

• Emergency comfort visits during treatment, if needed.

• Fixed bonded retainers behind the teeth.

• Three sets of removable retainers: one set to wear and two spare sets.

Any variation from these inclusions will be explained in your individual treatment plan.

Replacement retainers and subsequent retainer services are charged separately, as listed below.

Are there any additional costs?

CBCT scans: €150–€300

A CBCT scan provides three-dimensional images of the teeth and jaws. We recommend one only when it is clinically justified.

It may be needed to assess impacted teeth, plan skeletal expansion or investigate a complex dental or jaw problem.

The fee depends on the size of the area scanned and includes reporting of the findings. We confirm the charge before taking the scan.

The CBCT fee remains separate from your treatment fee, even if you proceed with treatment.

Custom expansion and skeletal anchorage appliances

Some treatments require individually designed appliances, such as bone-borne expanders or CAD-CAM skeletal anchorage systems.

These can involve digital design, specialist laboratory work and custom manufacturing. The cost depends on the appliance and your treatment needs.

Your quotation will clearly state whether these costs are included in the total or charged separately.

Retainer checks, repairs and replacement fees

An arch means either the upper or lower teeth.

A minor adhesive repair is included in the €80 retainer check.

Complete retainer replacement is charged at the relevant replacement rate.

Removing bonded retainers, followed by cleaning and polishing  the teeth surfaces costs €150 whether we treat one or both arches.

Why do orthodontic fees vary between clinics?

When comparing orthodontic fees, consider the full scope of care. The proposed treatment, choice of appliances, diagnostic imaging, laboratory work, retainers and follow-up arrangements all shape the value of your treatment. Quotations that appear similar may cover very different services.
